Warehouse and Fulfillment Associate - Chinese Mandatory
Tap Phong Trading Co. Inc. has been supplying professional cookware, dinnerware, and kitchen equipment to the restaurant industry across the GTA since 1984. We are growing, modernizing, and looking for a Warehouse and Fulfillment Associate to help us build a better run stockroom from the ground up.
What you will be doing
This is a hands on, physically active role. You will be putting away incoming stock, picking and packing customer orders, and making sure every order that leaves our building is complete and correct. You will be the primary person responsible for order accuracy, so this role is best suited to someone who takes real pride in getting the details right.
We are also in the process of rolling out CartonCloud, a new warehouse management system. Our racking does not yet have aisle and bin numbers, and once the new system is live, you will use a mobile scanner to put away and pick inventory. We are not looking for someone who simply learns an existing process. We are looking for someone who wants to help us build it, has patience for a warehouse that is mid transition, and can bring good ideas to the table along the way.
We do not currently have bin locations set up in our stockroom. Part of this role is helping us get there. You will help modernize and reorganize our current stockroom layout as we implement CartonCloud, building out an organized aisle and bin numbering structure essentially from scratch. Experience with a warehouse management system is an asset, and experience specifically with CartonCloud is a strong asset, though neither is required.
This role calls for someone who is highly detail oriented. Every order needs the correct items and correct quantities picked, packed, and checked before it goes out the door. We are also looking for someone extremely organized. Our stockroom needs to stay neat and tidy at all times, not just while we transition systems, but as an everyday standard.
Day to day responsibilities
- Unload deliveries, check them against purchase orders, and put stock away accurately
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for pickup, delivery, or shipment, carefully double checking quantities and items before anything ships
- Carefully package breakable items like cookware and dinnerware to prevent damage
- Help reorganize the stockroom and build out an organized aisle and bin numbering system from the ground up
- Learn and use a mobile scanner for putaway and picking as CartonCloud goes live
- Support cycle counts and help keep inventory accurate
- Keep the stockroom clean, organized, tidy, and safe at all times
- Support other warehouse and operational tasks as needed
What we are looking for
- Physically fit and comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, bending, and moving throughout a full shift
- Fluent in English, plus fluent in one of Cantonese, Mandarin, or Vietnamese
- Extremely detail oriented, with a strong track record of getting quantities and items right, every order, every time
- Extremely organized, with a genuine habit of keeping a workspace neat and tidy
- Comfortable with technology and open to learning new systems such as mobile scanners and warehouse management software, even without prior experience using them
- Highly motivated, dependable, and comfortable helping shape a new process
- Prior warehouse, stockroom, or similar physically active experience preferred
- Experience with a warehouse management system is an asset, and experience specifically with CartonCloud is a strong asset
