We are looking for a dynamic individual to be a part of our team. We are accepting applications for a Fitness Consultant.

Responsible to the Manager, Community Development & Support, the ideal candidate will possess the following:

Qualifications:

  • Nationally recognized Fitness Certification (e.g. CanFitPro, NSFA, CFES)
  • Experience working with high or at risk elderly population preferred including dementia
  • Experience with weight room supervision
  • Knowledge of the following: Health and Fitness, Dementia and other cognitive impairments, Flexibility, Anatomy, Physiology, Exercise Equipment, Free Weight Exercise, Documentation, Core Stabilization & Therapeutic Stretching, Computer Literacy, Risk Management Procedures, Environmental Hazard Awareness
  • Must have the following attributes: Patience, Professionalism, Supportive, Respectful, Concern for Others, Cooperation, Positive Attitude, Self-motivated, Energetic
  • Must have the following abilities: Follow Employer Policies, Problem Sensitivity, Lifts and Transfers (50lbs), Stamina, Working Independently
  • Must be Patient, Professional, Supportive, Respectful, Concern for others, Cooperative, Positive Attitude, Self-motivated and Energetic.
  • Must have regular and consistent attendance within the corporate Standard

Responsibilities:

  • Completes orientations with new clients
  • Designs and instructs clients on a well-rounded exercise program specified to their needs (including warm-up, stretching, strength training and cardiovascular)
  • Teaches fitness classes
  • Performs administrative duties (e.g. filing, collecting fees, tracking members, membership recruitment, answering phone calls, etc.)

Hours: 40 hours bi-weekly ( 4 - 6 hour shifts )
