Bilingual Virtual Administrative Assistant — Part-Time FREELANCE CONTRACT (not employment)

PLEASE READ FIRST - THIS IS A PART-TIME FREELANCE CONTRACT, NOT EMPLOYMENT. You invoice Our Executive Director (OED) for hours worked as a self-employed contractor. There is no salary, no benefits, no payroll. 15-25 hours per week. Remote, but you must be based in the National Capital Region (Ottawa-Gatineau). If you are looking for a full-time or salaried position, this role is not a fit.

COMPANY: Our Executive Director (OED) is an association management firm based in Gatineau, QC, providing administration, event coordination, membership services, communications, and governance support to Canadian professional associations and nonprofits. Our team is fully bilingual.

THE WORK: Membership database upkeep and member services; board meeting support (agendas, minutes); bilingual email and newsletter drafting; document formatting; event logistics; general executive administration.

REQUIREMENTS: Genuinely bilingual - flawless professional written French AND English (both are tested in our screening); administrative experience (association, nonprofit, or executive support background is a strong asset); organized, deadline-driven, independent; confident with MS Office, Google Workspace, and membership databases; based in the Ottawa-Gatineau region.

TERMS: Part-time freelance contract, 15-25 hours/week; $25-35/hour CAD depending on experience, invoiced monthly; long-term engagement for the right person, starting with a paid 30-day trial. Shortlisted candidates complete a short paid test task (approx. 30 min, $25).
