Superintendent (Civil Construction - Roads & Bridges)
<strong>Location: GTA, Ontario<br><br></strong><strong>Compensation: $130,000-$150,000 (based on experience)<br><br></strong><strong>Reference #</strong> <strong>16817719<br><br></strong><strong>The Opportunity<br><br></strong>Are you a Civil Superintendent who knows how to take a project from mobilization through completion and keep crews, subcontractors, equipment, schedules, and quality moving in the right direction?<br><br>This is an opportunity to join an established and growing heavy civil contractor with a strong track record of delivering infrastructure and civil construction projects throughout the GTA.<br><br><strong>What You'll Be Responsible For<br><br></strong><ul><li>Take ownership of daily site operations from mobilization through project completion.</li><li>Lead and coordinate crews, subcontractors, equipment, materials, inspections and site activities.</li><li>Work closely with Project Managers, consultants, inspectors, contract administrators and other stakeholders to keep projects on track.</li><li>Review drawings, specifications and schedules and translate project requirements into clear direction for Foremen and field crews.</li><li>Monitor production, progress, quality and schedule performance.</li><li>Identify potential issues early and take action to keep work progressing.</li><li>Coordinate inspections and ensure deficiencies are addressed quickly and properly.</li><li>Track labour, equipment rentals, materials and production.</li><li>Identify and document additional or out-of-scope work and communicate changes to the Project Manager.</li><li>Maintain accurate daily records and project documentation.</li><li>Promote a strong safety culture and ensure employees and subcontractors are working in accordance with project and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Participate in pre-construction, progress and coordination meetings.</li><li>Maintain productive relationships with owners, subcontractors, consultants, inspectors and other project stakeholders.</li><li>Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help improve how projects are delivered.<br><br></li></ul><strong>What You Bring<br><br></strong><ul><li>7–10+ years of experience as a Civil Construction Superintendent or in a comparable field leadership role.</li><li>Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline is an asset. P.ENG certification is preferred.</li><li>Strong background in heavy civil construction and field operations.</li><li>Hands-on experience withearthworks and roadworks; bridge experience is an asset.</li><li>Strong understanding of construction methods, equipment, scheduling, cost control, safety and quality requirements.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and contract documents.</li><li>Proven ability to lead crews, subcontractors and multiple site activities simultaneously.</li><li>Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Comfortable working with Microsoft Office and project scheduling software.</li><li>Ability to travel between project sites throughout the GTA.<br><br></li></ul><strong>What To Do Next<br><br></strong><strong>Click apply if you think this role is for you. </strong>If you are a qualified candidate with questions, please reach out to csoules@talentsphere.ca or call me at 416-900-3435 x 728<br><br>*Only those selected for the interview process will be contacted*
