D Co-op student to join our Medical Affairs Strategy & Execution team within the Oncology/Prostate Cancer therapeutic area. This is a 12-month co-op role based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, offering hands-on exposure to pharmaceutical medical affairs. You'll work closely with Medical Affairs colleagues and cross-functional partners to translate scientific strategy into practical, high-quality deliverables. ## What You'll Be Doing In this learning-focused role, you'll support the execution of apalutamide medical affairs priorities, including activities related to prostate cancer scientific strategy, launch readiness, and cross-functional alignment. You'll help track key deliverables, synthesize scientific information, and capture meeting minutes for distribution. You'll assist with planning HCP engagement activities such as advisory boards and scientific exchange meetings, and prepare discussion guides, pre-read materials, and post-meeting summaries. You'll also be involved in developing and refining scientific slide decks, maintaining consistency of messaging and references, and supporting scientific communication platforms. You'll contribute to FAQs and "One J&J voice" deliverables, help align content across stakeholders, and prepare concise response documents. Congress support is another key component—helping with preparation materials, abstract tracking, competitive intelligence summaries, and post-congress reports. Additionally, you'll analyze social media and digital landscape trends related to prostate cancer congresses and scientific topics, and maintain project trackers, timelines, and action logs. ## Who We're Looking For To succeed in this role, you'll need to be available for the full 12-month co-op term, remain actively enrolled in your academic program, and be authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week) without sponsorship. We're seeking someone with a strong interest in pharmaceutical/biotech medical affairs, oncology, prostate cancer, scientific communications, or healthcare strategy. A foundational understanding of clinical research, medical literature, and evidence-based scientific communication is essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications—especially Power. Point, Word, Excel, and Outlook—is required. You should have strong written and verbal communication skills, solid organizational abilities, and keen attention to detail. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment is important, along with a strong academic record (recommended GPA 2.8 and above). ## Preferred Qualifications Ideally, you are a Ph. D/Pharm. D candidate, graduate student, or recent graduate with academic experience in pharmacy, biomedical sciences, pharmacology, epidemiology, public health, medical sciences, or a related field. Prior coursework or experience in oncology, urology, medical affairs, clinical development, medical information, regulatory affairs, or medical communications is a plus. We value experience creating or refining slide decks, scientific summaries, or educational materials, as well as familiarity with oncology terminology, clinical trial design, and evidence-generation concepts. Comfort with digital tools, dashboards, social listening outputs, or structured trackers is also beneficial. ## Skills and Competencies The ideal candidate is scientifically curious, analytical, and detail-oriented. You should be able to synthesize medical insights and congress information into meaningful summaries, manage competing priorities, and work effectively with medical affairs colleagues, agencies, and regional partners. We value learning agility and professional judgment, especially when handling confidential or sensitive information. ## Learning Opportunities This co-op is designed to give you practical experience in pharmaceutical medical affairs and scientific strategy. You'll build knowledge of the prostate cancer treatment landscape, learn how medical affairs teams support scientific communication and congress planning, and develop skills in slide development, scientific writing, and insight synthesis. You'll contribute to real-world deliverables while receiving mentorship and feedback from experienced professionals. ## Compensation and Additional Information The anticipated base pay range for this position is $23.00/hr to $33.00/hr.
