About the Role

Our client, a reputable general contractor specializing in high-end commercial renovations and tenant improvements, is seeking a dedicated Senior Site Supervisor for projects in Markham, Ontario . This hands-on role is crucial for ensuring the smooth execution of on-site operations, maintaining project schedules, upholding safety standards, and coordinating effectively with trades, clients, and project managers. You will be the eyes and ears on the ground, responsible for the day-to-day supervision of construction activities, quality control, and problem-solving. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, extensive experience in commercial construction, and a keen understanding of renovation processes. Key Responsibilities Direct and supervise all on-site construction activities for commercial renovation projects. Ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, schedules, and quality standards. Implement and enforce strict health and safety regulations on site, conducting regular safety inspections. Coordinate the daily activities of all subcontractors and site personnel, ensuring efficient workflow. Monitor construction progress, identify potential issues or delays, and implement timely solutions. Conduct quality control checks throughout the renovation process, ensuring high standards of workmanship. Manage site logistics, including material staging, equipment coordination, and site cleanliness. Maintain accurate daily site reports, documenting progress, incidents, and key activities. Liaise with Project Managers, clients, and designers to address site-specific concerns and ensure client satisfaction. Promote a positive and productive working environment on site. Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Site Supervisor or Foreman in commercial construction, with a focus on renovations. Proven track record of successfully managing on-site operations for multiple projects concurrently. Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, building codes, and safety legislation in Ontario . Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents. Experience with scheduling software and general office applications. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites within the Markham area. Working knowledge of trades and their interdependencies.
