Senior Renewable Energy Engineer

About the Role Our client, a leading energy solutions provider, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Renewable Energy Engineer to join their esteemed team in **Toronto, Ontario**. Key Responsibilities Lead the engineering design and technical specifications for renewable energy projects, including solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, wind turbines, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and energy yield analyses to support project development. Oversee the procurement and installation process, ensuring adherence to engineering standards, safety regulations, and project timelines. Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle. Perform detailed technical reviews of designs, equipment, and contractor proposals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, regulatory affairs, and business development, to ensure successful project outcomes. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, technology partners, and regulatory bodies. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry best practices, and regulatory changes in the renewable energy sector. Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in the renewable energy industry, with a focus on project engineering and design. Demonstrated experience with solar PV, wind energy systems, and/or battery storage technologies. Proficiency in energy modeling software (e.g., PVSyst, HOMER, SAM) and CAD software. Strong understanding of electrical systems, grid interconnection standards, and power electronics. Proven project management skills, including experience managing budgets and schedules for large-scale projects. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
