Senior Petroleum Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Petroleum Engineer to join their dynamic team in Ottawa . This role is pivotal in optimizing hydrocarbon recovery, managing reservoir development, and ensuring efficient production operations. You will play a key part in technical decision-making, collaborating with geologists, geophysicists, and drilling engineers to achieve production targets and maximize asset value. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of reservoir simulation, production engineering principles, and economic evaluation techniques, contributing to groundbreaking projects within the Canadian Oil & Gas sector.

Key Responsibilities Develop and implement reservoir management strategies to optimize production and recovery rates. Conduct detailed engineering studies , including performance analysis, decline curve analysis, and economic evaluations. Design and oversee artificial lift systems, well stimulation programs, and production facility modifications. Utilize advanced reservoir simulation software to model fluid flow and predict future reservoir performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operations. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for management and stakeholders. Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in petroleum engineering , with a focus on reservoir and production engineering. Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, Petrel RE) and production engineering tools. Strong understanding of geological data analysis and interpretation. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Professional Engineer (PE) designation or eligibility for registration in Ontario is an asset.
