This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced public accounting professional seeking a collaborative, primarily remote work environment, meaningful leadership responsibilities, and a clear path to partnership and ownership over the next few years.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Manage a portfolio of owner-managed business clients, acting as their primary advisor for accounting, tax, and business matters.</li><li>Review and oversee the preparation of compilation engagements, financial statements, corporate and personal tax returns, and other compliance filings.</li><li>Provide proactive tax planning and business advisory services tailored to the needs of entrepreneurial clients.</li><li>Build and maintain strong client relationships while delivering exceptional service and identifying opportunities to add value.</li><li>Lead, coach, and mentor a small team, providing technical guidance, performance feedback, and professional development.</li><li>Review work completed by staff to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to professional standards.</li><li>Manage engagement planning, workflow, and deadlines across multiple client files, particularly during busy tax seasons.</li><li>Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and client service.</li><li>Collaborate with the founders on firm operations, strategic planning, and practice growth initiatives.</li><li>Support business development efforts and contribute to the firm's long-term succession and leadership plans.</li><li>Attend occasional client meetings within the Greater Toronto Area as required.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>CPA designation in good standing.</li><li>Minimum 10 years of progressive public accounting experience, preferably with a small or mid-sized CPA firm.</li><li>Strong experience serving owner-managed businesses, including corporate and personal tax, compilations, and financial reporting.</li><li>Proven ability to build trusted client relationships and provide practical business and tax advice.</li><li>Demonstrated leadership experience managing, mentoring, and developing a team of accounting professionals.</li><li>Excellent technical knowledge of Canadian accounting and tax requirements for private companies.</li><li>Strong organizational, communication, and relationship management skills, with the ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines.</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), tax preparation software, Adobe Acrobat, and cloud-based accounting applications.</li><li>Entrepreneurial mindset with an interest in contributing to the firm's long-term growth and pursuing future partnership or ownership opportunities.</li><li>Willingness to work additional hours during peak tax season and attend occasional client meetings within the Greater Toronto Area.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Additional Information:</strong> </p><p><br></p><p><em>The Mason Group is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and accessible recruitment process.
