Senior Accounting Clerk in Brampton, ON - Canada

<p>We are a growing public accounting firm providing accounting, bookkeeping, tax preparation, payroll, and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of individuals and businesses. We are looking for an experienced and motivated <strong>Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant</strong> to join our team located at Brampton near Steeles Ave. and Torbram Rd. To apply, send your resume to admin@taxandaccountingsolutions.ca</p><p><strong>The successful candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple client files independently while meeting deadlines.</strong></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain complete and accurate accounting records for a variety of clients.</li><li>Perform full-cycle bookkeeping, including recording transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.</li><li>Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and accounting reports.</li><li>Prepare and review GST/HST returns and other sales tax filings.</li><li>Assist with preparation of corporate <strong>T2</strong> and personal <strong>T1</strong> tax returns.</li><li>Prepare working papers and supporting schedules for year-end engagements and tax filings.</li><li>Assist with payroll processing, payroll remittances, T4s, T4As, and other year-end payroll requirements.</li><li>Review financial statements and accounting records for accuracy and completeness.</li><li>Identify accounting discrepancies and make appropriate corrections and adjustments.</li><li>Prepare adjusting journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, and other year-end adjustments.</li><li>Communicate with clients regarding accounting records, missing information, tax matters, and required documentation.</li><li>Assist with CRA correspondence, notices, and client inquiries.</li><li>Maintain organized and complete electronic and paper working files.</li><li>Manage multiple client assignments and prioritize work according to deadlines.</li><li>Provide guidance and support to junior bookkeeping and accounting staff.</li><li>Perform other accounting and administrative duties as required.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications and Experience</strong></p><ul><li><strong>3+ years of Canadian accounting/bookkeeping experience</strong>, preferably in a public accounting firm.</li><li>Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting and taxation principles.</li><li>Experience with <strong>T1 and T2 tax returns</strong> is an asset.</li><li>Experience with <strong>GST/HST, payroll, T4/T4A, and year-end accounting</strong>.</li><li>Strong understanding of full-cycle bookkeeping and financial statement preparation.</li><li>Experience with <strong>QuickBooks Online/Desktop</strong> and accounting software.</li><li>Proficiency with <strong>Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office</strong>.</li><li>Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently and manage multiple client files.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced public accounting environment.</li></ul><p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.</li><li>Opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and industries.</li><li>Professional growth and advancement opportunities.</li><li>Supportive and collaborative work environment.</li><li>Exposure to bookkeeping, tax, payroll, GST/HST, and accounting advisory work.</li><li>Opportunities to develop and expand Canadian public accounting experience.</li></ul>
