About the Opportunity

Our client, a small accounting firm, has an existing vacancy for an enthusiastic Senior Accountant with a positive, can-do attitude. This is a hands-on, end-to-end accounting role where you will manage the day-to-day bookkeeping and broader accounting needs of the firm’s clients. The work will range from accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll through to financial reporting, analysis and budgeting.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Take ownership of the full accounting cycle for assigned clients
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
Complete financial reviews and analysis
Prepare and review monthly internal reporting
Prepare statutory filings, including GST/HST remittances and other CRA reporting
Review and analyze bank reconciliations
Develop, compile and consolidate budget data
Prepare working papers for external accountants and audits
Support additional accounting projects and activities as required
About You

The successful candidate will have the following:
At least three years of full-cycle accounting experience, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and financial reporting
A hands-on approach with excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
A collaborative attitude and willingness to contribute across all areas of accounting and finance
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 & QuickBooks Online (QBO)
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
About the Job

This permanent opportunity offers:
An annual salary between $60,000 to $80,000/yr DOE
Medical and dental benefits
Three weeks of vacation
A remote work arrangement, candidates must be located in the Ottawa area
