Seasonal Server

est Restaurant is a fine dining restaurant located in the heart of the vibrant Queen Street East community of Riverside, Toronto.

For the summer season, we are currently hiring Servers.

  • Prepare and serve all beverages to the agree standards and specifications.
  • Strictly ensure responsible alcohol service using Smart Serve principles
  • Serve patrons with food and beverages in a positive and friendly manner.
  • Provide information to help food and beverage selections.
  • Present ordered choices in a prompt and efficient manner.
  • Maintain dining ambiance with an enthusiastic attitude.
  • Prepare for service by clothing tables, napkins, service plates, and utensils and candles.
  • Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
  • Help patrons select food and beverages by suggesting courses, explaining the chef’s specialties, identifying appropriate beverage pairings, and answering food preparation questions.
  • Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons’ choices and identifying patrons’ special dietary needs and special requests.
  • Serve orders by picking up and delivering patrons’ choices from bar and kitchen and delivering accompaniments and condiments from service bars.
  • Respond to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs and observing dining process.
  • Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to patron spills or other special needs.
  • Obtain revenues by totaling charges, issuing bills, accepting payments, delivering bills and payments to host, and returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons.
  • 2 years + fine dining experience
  • Asset: Good knowledge of wines and pairings
Summary As a Server at our establishment, you will be at the forefront of delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive dining experience for our patrons. Your core skills in food service, customer service, and food handling will be instrumental in taking orders, serving meals, and upholding food safety standards. With premium skills in POS systems and time management, you will efficiently manage transactions and provide prompt service.

Qualifications

  • Smart Serve certification
  • Previous restaurant experience
  • Proficiency in food service and customer service
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and handling procedures
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with POS systems, particularly Micros POS
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Basic math skills for cash handling and transactions
  • Strong communication skills for guest services and upselling opportunities
Pay: From $17.60 per hour
