GiCor lodging projects Ltd. is a full-service interiors company supporting both commercial and residential clients with custom and motorized window coverings, home automation, interior design, furnishings, and procurement services. Our company collaborates closely with architects, builders, and interior designers offering an extensive range of products, loaner sample libraries and a welcoming showroom environment for client meetings. Our fully automated showroom showcases integrated home automation solutions, including lighting, alarms, AV as well as a multitude of shading systems.

Role Description: We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Window Coverings Sales Consultant to join our team. This role has a base salary plus commission. This role involves engaging with clients to provide expert advice on window treatment solutions, demonstrating products, and guiding customers through the selection and purchase process.

The ideal candidate will possess strong sales skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for interior design and renovation projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a high-end sales environment, combining inside and outside sales responsibilities with product demonstrations and account management. Day to day responsibilities include consulting with walk in and referred clients in the showroom.

Preparing quotes and proposals, coordination with designers, builders and architects, and managing orders from the initial inquiry through installation follow-up. The consultant will maintain product knowledge on MechoShading, Somfy, Hunter Douglas, and related shading systems, demonstrate automation capabilities in the showroom and support project procurement activities as needed. The roll also involves providing attentive customer service, tracking prospecting activities, and contributing to a positive professional showroom experience.

Duties

  • Engage with customers in retail and showroom settings to understand their needs and recommend appropriate window covering solutions.
  • Conduct product demos, showcasing features and benefits of various window treatments, including blinds, shades, shutters, and custom options.
  • Utilize CAD software such as SketchUp or similar tools to assist clients with design visualization and space planning.
  • Upsell additional products or services to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Assist clients with renovation or construction projects by providing expert advice on product compatibility and installation options.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships through account management practices, follow-up communications, and personalized service.
  • Collaborate with marketing efforts to promote new products or special promotions through merchandising strategies.
  • Maintain organized records of sales activities, customer interactions, and inventory levels.
  • Support inside sales efforts by responding promptly to inquiries via phone or email; occasionally participate in outside sales visits.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in retail sales, high-end sales, or inside/outside sales roles within home improvement, renovation, or interior design sectors with experience recommending window covering or interior solutions based on client needs.
  • Strong communication skills including clear verbal presentation and professional written correspondence.
  • Familiarity with CAD software such as SketchUp or similar tools for design consultations.
  • Experience with negotiation, upselling techniques, and customer service excellence.
  • Understanding of renovation or construction processes is advantageous.
  • Organizational skills necessary for merchandising displays and managing multiple client accounts effectively.
  • Knowledge of window covering products, fabrics, motorized shading systems, experience with Hunter Douglas, Somfy, or similar brands is an asset.
  • Ability to demonstrate products confidently through demos and presentations.
  • Ability to work on-site full time in the Greater Calgary Area including some flexibility for client appointments as required.
  • Must have valid drivers license and own vehicle for in home sales consulting.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and professionally with clients.This role is ideal for motivated individuals passionate about interior design, home improvement solutions, and delivering exceptional customer experiences in a high-end retail environment. Base salary plus commission. Pay: From $1.00 per year
