Sales Assistant/Cashier

Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and professional Sales Assistant/Cashier to join our retail team. This role involves providing exceptional service to customers, managing transactions accurately, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and assist with their inquiries in person and over the phone
  • Operate POS systems efficiently for cash handling, credit card processing, and returns
  • Conduct product demos and upsell items to enhance customer satisfaction and sales
  • Maintain organized merchandising displays and ensure product availability
  • Provide information about products, services, and ongoing promotions
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and resolve issues promptly
  • Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure smooth checkout processes
  • Maintain accurate cash registers and balance cash at the end of shifts
  • Assist with inventory management and stock replenishment as needed
Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are highly desirable
  • Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
  • Proficiency with POS systems and familiarity with retail technology tools
  • Ability to perform product demos and engage customers through upselling techniques
  • Good phone etiquette and professional demeanor
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Multilingual skills are considered an asset for serving diverse customer bases
Pay: From $17.60 per hour
