Registered Nurse Expert Academic Reviewer - Remote

Technology with humanity

At StudyRadar, advanced technology amplifies—not replaces—the judgment, compassion and lived expertise of healthcare professionals. Our human-in-the-loop approach combines AI-enabled scale with accountable academic review. In this role, your expertise helps improve learning quality and, ultimately, supports better care in communities where skilled clinicians are needed most.

We are looking for the proudly nerdy: someone who follows the clinical thread, checks the source twice, notices the detail others skim past and turns a correction into a teachable moment. You bring confidence without ego, curiosity without shortcuts and precision without losing sight of the person behind the question.

What you will do

  • Review NCLEX-RN, NCLEX-PN and other nursing-focused resources according to your interest and demonstrated competency.
  • Evaluate accuracy, currency, clarity and alignment, with attention to clinical judgment, prioritization, delegation, patient safety, communication, care planning and nursing scope.
  • Interrogate answers, distractors, rationales, references, scoring materials and learner feedback; identify ambiguity, bias and unsafe or outdated content.
  • Explain corrections clearly so the final resource teaches reasoning—not just recall.
  • Participate in calibration, quality-control questions, random sampling, second review and audit.
  • When separately agreed, contribute to mentorship, webinars, speaking engagements or product planning.

Who will thrive here

  • A detail-oriented professional who enjoys evidence, complexity and a well-constructed assessment item.
  • A critical thinker who can challenge a conclusion respectfully and revise their own view when evidence changes.
  • A clear writer who gives direct, practical and learner-centred feedback.
  • Someone interested in teaching, research, mentorship, leadership or quality improvement.
  • A reliable self-starter who protects confidentiality, meets deadlines and communicates early when scope is unclear.
  • A clinician or technician who believes responsible technology can extend human expertise without diminishing it.

Qualifications

  • Current status in good standing as a registered nurse in Canada.
  • Relevant practice knowledge and willingness to accept only work within demonstrated competence.
  • Interest or experience in education, precepting, mentorship, assessment, research, simulation or professional development is valued.
  • Comfort using digital collaboration tools and a secure online review workflow.
  • A suitable private WFH workspace, reliable internet and a secure computer.
  • If hired and after completing at least one accepted Review Block, you would be required to provide a headshot/potraite picture and to review and approve a finalized About Me profile for the StudyRadar Team page.

Work and compensation

  • Hourly wage; paid biweekly less statutory and authorized deductions.
  • Flexible remote WFH role within Canada. Review work is organized into standard blocks; block size and other internal production details are shared with hired reviewers, not in the public posting.
  • Assignments are offered according to project needs, availability, interest and competency; minimum hours are not guaranteed.
  • Employees use their own ordinary computer, internet, telephone and home workspace. Where legally and factually appropriate, StudyRadar provides applicable employer tax documentation for the next tax filing season; eligibility for deductions is determined by tax law.
  • If selected, you will complete a short interview. Hired candidates receive paid orientation/onboarding before substantive review work begins.

Team profile

The application includes a compulsory About Me draft. If hired, you will confirm a professional headshot and final biography during onboarding. Your Team-page profile is published only after you complete at least one Review Block accepted as meeting StudyRadar’s quality standard. Applying does not authorize public posting.

How to apply

Submit the short application below and attach your résumé/CV or provide your LinkedIn profile. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a short interview. References, payroll forms, headshot, licence verification details and other administrative documentation are requested during onboarding—not in the initial application.
