Real Estate Accountant

About Us

Buying or selling a home is one of the biggest decisions most people ever make. Thousands of Canadians trust Right at Home Realty, Property.ca, Condos.ca, and MrLoft.ca to help them make it, connecting buyers, sellers, renters, landlords, and agents at the right moment, with the right experience.

Behind every brokerage and marketplace sits myAbode's transaction processing platform, handling 30,000+ deals a year across thousands of agents. We sit at the centre of how Canadian real estate actually works by delivering that same back office to brokerages across Canada.

myAbode is a young company with deep roots. We're an AI-native team rebuilding the real estate back office from the ground up, reimagining the most complex, emotional, and consequential transaction in most people's lives. The next era of real estate will run on new infrastructure, and we're making sure it's built in Canada, with the in-house expertise to back it.

Round13-backed, we offer the stability of an established company with the pace of a startup. We're curious, we move fast, and we're built for context switching. If you want to build something ambitious alongside genuinely smart people, in a space that's ready for it, this is the place.

The Role

This is a net-new seat on our deals closing team, focused on the reconciliation side of the business. You would own general accounting, bank reconciliation, and trust account reconciliations for all the brokerages we provide services for, and you would stay on top of money movement and the collection of commissions owed to those brokerages.

You report to the Deal Closing Manager. It is hands-on, detail-heavy work that keeps the brokerages we serve accurate and paid, and there is room to strengthen the controls and streamline the process as you go.

What You'll Own

  • Bank and trust account reconciliations are clean and current for every brokerage we service.
  • Trust account reconciliations for our clients are accurate and current, and final trade sheets are verified before filing, so nothing slips through.
  • Controls get stronger, and the reconciliation process gets more efficient because of your suggestions.
  • You are fully onboarded to the systems and own the reconciliations end to end.

What We're Looking For
  • Strong grasp of trust accounting, commission structures, deposits, payouts, and deal flow, and how money movement affects the transaction.
  • Strong general accounting and reconciliation skills (bank and trust account reconciliations).
  • Comfort with money movement and collecting funds on behalf of brokerages.
  • Speed and accuracy together, plus strong attention to detail. You catch what others miss.
  • The ability to juggle multiple deals without dropping any, and to take ownership without being prompted.
  • Toronto-based and able to work hybrid, in-office at least 3 days a week.

Nice to have
  • Accounts payable experience.
  • Reconciliations experience in real estate, especially Lone Wolf (strong asset).
  • Prior experience with APR.
  • Experience in a high-volume brokerage or multi-office environment.
  • Comfort picking up new systems quickly.
