Job Title: QA Manager (with Automation Expertise)

Location: Remote(Canada)

Duration: 12 Months

Reports To: Delivery Manager

Role Overview The QA Manager will lead the Quality Assurance team to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. This role emphasizes test automation strategy and implementation while managing manual testing efforts as needed . The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of QA methodologies, and hands-on experience with automation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Strategy
  • Define and implement QA strategy, standards, and best practices across projects.
  • Manage and mentor QA engineers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Product, Development, and DevOps teams to align QA processes with business goals.

  • Automation
  • Design and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web, API, and mobile applications.
  • Drive automation coverage for regression, smoke, and performance testing.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery.

  • Quality Assurance
  • Oversee test planning, execution, and reporting for functional, integration, and system testing.
  • Ensure defect tracking and root cause analysis are performed effectively.
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure quality and team performance.
  • Tools & Technologies
  • Hands-on experience with tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, JMeter, and API testing tools (Postman, Rest Assured).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
  • Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of QA experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven expertise in test automation frameworks and scripting languages (Java, Python, JavaScript).
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Shift-Left Testing and early QA involvement in SDLC.
  • Knowledge of performance testing and security testing practices.
  • Familiarity with AI-based testing tools and automation accelerators
