Program Manager (Strategic Energy Management)

Annual salary: $ 109,700.00 - 138,700.00
What you'll do

The Industrial and Large Commercial Product Management team supports customers with audits to begin to understand the
energy opportunities in their facilities, feasibility studies to build the project business case and implementation funding to
complete the upgrades. A key to this work is development and establishment of energy management capabilities and
resources at customer sites. As such, Strategic Energy Management programs offer funding and resources to ensure
energy efficient projects are successful in realizing energy savings for customers and BC Hydro. Strategic Energy
Management programs include energy managers, cohorts, and the energy wise network.
Strategic Energy Management programs significantly contribute to BC Hydro’s energy efficiency targets outlined in the
Power Smart 2.0 Plan.
Key Duties:
In collaboration with other Power Smart functions, develop and maintain industrial and large commercial Strategic Energy
Management programs and other relevant programs, including scope, budget, schedule and responsibilities to accomplish
business case objectives and implementation plans.
- Lead Strategic Energy Management Cohort offerings for Industrial and Large Commercial customers
- Develop and maintain support for departmental business practices, e.g. monthly program reviews, KPIs, variance
- Perform ongoing strategic reviews of current programs
- Troubleshoot and respond to process issues and program development needs
- Project manage program enhancements and process improvements to delivery on time and budget
- Perform continual evaluation of DSM best practices for industrial and/or commercial customers and incorporation of
- Manage contracts with external service providers and customers
- Provide support and knowledge transfer to other team members to help strengthen the team
- Participate on special projects, as needed, to support the overall Product Management Strategy
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a relevant discipline such as business
- 5 - 7 years experience in marketing or other relevant area (within an industrial or large commercial setting, or energy
- Demonstrated understanding of Energy Efficiency, Efficient Electrification, Capacity and/or Strategic Energy Management
- Demonstrated ability to seek information from people (internal and external) with diverse opinions, filter and synthesize the
- Familiarity with CRM (Customer relationship management) systems or tools is desirable.
- Proven analytical, problem-solving and project management skills
- Experience in budgeting, variance analysis and risk assessments
- Experience and the ability to manage high volume of multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in developing and implementing significant program, process and/or system changes
- Results-driven, while respecting the importance of collaboration and teamwork
- Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to build influential relationships internally and externally, at every level of the organization
