Production Data Analyst for Feature Animation – ILM Vancouver
ILM Vancouver is hiring a Production Data Analyst for Feature Animation to join the Disney-backed studio in Vancouver, BC, Canada. This role sits inside the feature animation production pipeline, where the focus is on managing show data, building reporting templates, and keeping sequence schedules and quota trackers accurate enough for producers to make real decisions. It suits an analytically minded production professional who understands how feature animation moves through a pipeline and can translate that knowledge into clear, reliable reporting.
About the Role
The Production Data Analyst for Feature Animation works directly with producers and production managers across the feature animation portfolio, supporting both internal tracking and client-facing deliverables. Day to day, this person is maintaining master sequence schedules, running weekly and monthly status reports, and monitoring inventory levels as shots move through the animation pipeline. The role is hybrid, with two to three days onsite at the Vancouver studio.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain master sequence schedules, quota trackers, and scenario planners in close coordination with producers and production staff.
- Prepare and deliver standardized weekly and monthly reports for internal teams, as well as formatted reports aligned to client templates.
- Review weekly detail reports for accuracy, flagging discrepancies and making reclassifications where the data does not reflect actual production output.
- Monitor daily inventory levels across departments to ensure shots are flowing through the animation pipeline and output forecasts stay current.
- Identify gaps or inefficiencies in scheduling, milestone tracking, or information flow, and bring specific recommendations to producers.
- Mentor junior production staff on reading bids, analyzing schedules, and generating reports that hold up under producer scrutiny.
What You Bring
- Three to four years of production experience, with at least two years working specifically in feature animation production.
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including managing and analyzing large datasets across multiple active shows.
- Demonstrated ability to work across departments and manage competing priorities without losing accuracy on reporting deadlines.
- Experience supporting producers on scheduling and forecasting within a VFX pipeline or animation studio environment.
- Strong communication skills and the judgment to know when an issue needs to be escalated versus resolved at the coordinator level.
