Private Household Assistant

Please note: The working schedule is entirely aligned with the owner’s work and travel commitments. The role includes overnights when the owner is away, with weekends and holidays as required. This is not a live in position, however a guest room is provided during overnight stays at each of the properties when needed.

About the Role:

We are seeking a mature, reliable, organized, and dog-loving Private Household Assistant to provide exceptional nanny care for three wonderful dogs while supporting the organization and the day to day upkeep of the home.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys spending time outdoors, caring for animals, and creating a clean, calm, and well-managed home environment. The successful candidate will become a trusted member of the household team, ensuring the dogs’ routines are maintained and the home is cared for when the owner is working or travelling.

This is not a traditional 9–5 position. The schedule is based on the owner’s work and travel commitments and typically averages approximately 20 days per month, including overnight stays, weekends, and holidays as required. This is not a live-in position; however, a private guest room is provided during overnight stays when needed at each of the properties.

Transportation for the dogs will be required, including veterinary and grooming appointments, hand overs and drop offs to any of the above mentioned areas.

A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are required.

Schedule & Expectations

Your schedule will vary based on the owner’s travel and work commitments and may include:

  • Dedicated blocks of dog care
  • Overnight stays when the owner is away
  • Weekends and holidays as needed
  • Travel between properties to assist the owner
  • Flexible availability to accommodate changes in the owner's schedule

This is a hands-on caregiving role for our dogs. The successful candidate should be comfortable spending the majority of the day with the dogs, as they should not be left alone for extended periods (generally no more than two hours at a time).

The primary focus of this role is providing exceptional care for the dogs and maintaining their daily routines. Household support is included to help maintain a clean, organized, and comfortable home environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily care, companionship, exercise, and enrichment for three dogs
  • Maintain feeding, wellness, grooming, medication, and daily routines
  • Provide long walks, hikes, outdoor activities, and transportation to appointments
  • Monitor and communicate updates on the dogs’ health, behaviour, and overall well-being
  • Provide overnight care and travel support when the owner is away
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and dog-friendly home environment
  • Manage household laundry, supplies, errands, and general organization
  • Assist with seasonal household tasks and coordination with contractors/service providers
  • Support with cleaning, tidying, and general upkeep
  • Support meal preparation and other day-to-day household tasks as needed

Ideal Candidate

You are someone who:

  • Has a genuine love for dogs and enjoys spending significant time with animals
  • Is active and enjoys long walks, hiking, and being outdoors in all seasons
  • Is dependable, organized, and able to work independently
  • Takes pride in maintaining a clean and organized home
  • Is an excellent communicator, genuinely enjoys being helpful, and provides regular updates
  • Is comfortable caring for multiple dogs and maintaining consistent routines
  • Has flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, overnight stays, and travel as required

Previous experience in professional nannying, household support, or dog care is preferred.

Preference may be given to candidates without pets, as one of the dogs is sensitive to unfamiliar animals in her home environment.
