Principal Health and Safety Consultant
Job Description:
- Lead national strategic health and safety engagements across the energy, mining, infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, utilities, wood preservation and transportation sectors
- Advise senior leaders and business owners on health and safety governance, regulatory compliance, risk management and program assurance for complex operations
- Oversee high‑risk HSE initiatives, delivering practical, defensible solutions focused on performance improvement and reduction of operational risk
- Drive revenue growth using a seller‑doer approach, developing key accounts and securing recurring national engagements
- Build, coach and mobilize high‑performing teams, ensuring consistent technical excellence and client confidence
- Contribute to defining and executing the firm’s Canadian growth strategy to strengthen market presence and long‑term value
Requirements:
- 12+ years of experience in health and safety consulting and/or industrial environments, supporting high‑risk operations in energy, mining, infrastructure, wood preservation, construction, manufacturing, utilities or transportation sectors
- Recognized professional certification or eligibility, including one or more of the following (or provincial equivalents): CRSP, CIH, CSP, CHSC, PSAC — holding multiple designations may lead to additional compensation
- Proven leadership, including ability to build and mentor teams, delegate effectively and consistently deliver technical and commercial results
- Demonstrated seller‑doer track record with measurable outcomes in client development, account expansion and national revenue growth
- Strong knowledge of Canadian regulatory frameworks, experience across multiple provinces, and a keen interest in developing experience in the United States
- Fluency in English, spoken and written (required); fluency in French, spoken and written, is strongly preferred
