Overview

Do you love working in a kitchen environment where quality and consistency are key? Sorrentino’s Cucina + Bar, located in Downtown Edmonton, is looking for a part-time Line Cook to join our team! This is a key position within our organization that plays a critical role in providing excellent internal and external customer service.

Sorrentino's Cucina + Bar is a well-known Italian restaurant group, recognized for its diverse culinary offerings, private event planning, and a long-standing reputation for quality. Our Downtown location is a great place for guests to enjoy fine-dining Italian cuisine and relax with friends and family. We are constantly seeking ambitious individuals who want to grow with our company as we continue to expand.

Our Downtown location is just a quick four-minute stroll from the 102 St LRT station and only two minutes from the Churchill Connector. We are also located across the street from the Edmonton Public Library!

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards with a focus on Italian cuisine.
  • Ensure the assigned station is fully stocked and ready before each service.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Follow all food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures in accordance with local health regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, managers, and customers.
  • Exhibit energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adapt to various kitchen tasks and cross-train as needed.
  • Execute daily opening and closing checklists with accuracy.
  • Participate in deep cleaning and organization tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in a dining kitchen with a focus on Italian cuisine is considered an asset.
  • Experience on a Hotside/Entrée station is considered an asset.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations, prep, and line execution.
  • Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to work standing for long periods and lift items up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • A genuine passion for the restaurant industry and customer service.
