Responsibilities

  • Efficiently set up banquet rooms by arranging tables, chairs, linens, and décor according to event specifications
  • Ensure all surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before and after events using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents
  • Handle heavy lifting of furniture and supplies safely, adhering to proper manual handling procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness of the banquet area throughout events by performing routine floor cleaning, vacuuming, and sanitation tasks
  • Follow hotel housekeeping management standards and safety procedures, including understanding safety data sheets (SDS) for chemical handling
  • Assist with the breakdown and storage of event setups promptly after functions conclude
  • Support overall hotel housekeeping efforts by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all banquet areas

Experience

  • Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred, especially within hospitality or hotel environments
  • Familiarity with industrial cleaning techniques, floor care, and sanitation practices is advantageous
  • Experience handling cleaning equipment and chemical agents safely is highly valued
  • Knowledge of hotel emergency procedures ensures safety during event setups and breakdowns
  • Strong customer service skills to assist guests and team members effectively during busy event periods
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced setting
  • Previous hotel housekeeping management or hospitality experience is a plus but not required
