Oracle Lead

About the position

The Oracle Lead is accountable for the overall stability, performance, and continuous improvement of Seaspan Marine Group’s (SMG) use of the Oracle ERP platform. This role provides functional and platform leadership for Oracle ERP, ensuring the system aligns with business priorities and delivers reliable, scalable solutions across the organization. Acting as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the functional teams, the Oracle Lead owns demand management, prioritization, business alignment, and delivery oversight for system enhancements, process improvements, and functional support. They will partner with other technical teams where changes intersect with integrations, data flows or enterprise architecture-related activities. The Oracle Lead drives the delivery of governance within the Oracle framework, and develops and executes platform standards, directly leading SMG's Oracle team and functional use, while coordinating with cross-functional partners to ensure effective delivery. Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior functional leadership and subject matter expertise for SMG's Oracle ERP system.
  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the Oracle platform team, coordinating with functional and technical partners.
  • Partner with functional and technical teams to support system performance, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead the assessment and prioritization recommendations for system enhancements and changes, balancing business value, risk, and platform capacity.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of governance practices, standards, and operating processes.
  • Oversee delivery of system functional enhancements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and quality standards, engaging technical partners to validate architectural alignment where integrations or enterprise data flows are affected.
  • Lead coordination of internal teams and external vendors to deliver system support and enhancements.
  • Coordinate workload, priorities, and delivery activities across Oracle team members, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Drive proactive identification of system issues and performance gaps.
  • Ensure root cause analysis is performed and sustainable improvements are implemented.
  • Lead initiatives to improve system efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
  • Facilitate business requirement intake and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Support user adoption through structured change management, training, and communication.
  • Ensure business processes supported by Oracle are efficient, consistent, and scalable.
  • Oversee testing strategies and ensure appropriate validation of system changes.
  • Ensure proper functional documentation of requirements, workflows, system designs, and support procedures.
  • Maintain alignment with audit, control, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and guidance to SMG's Oracle team members, including analysts and functional specialists.
  • Promote best practices across system support, delivery, and governance.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years in ERP systems analysis, application support, or enterprise systems delivery.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating delivery of system enhancements.
  • Strong experience supporting Oracle Fusion Cloud environments (finance and supply chain preferred).
  • Experience with system integrations, enterprise applications, and large-scale environments.
  • Experience working with both SaaS and/or on-premise platforms.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills across business and technical domains.
  • Deep understanding of Oracle Fusion Cloud systems and supported business processes.
  • Proven ability to own prioritization and coordinate cross-functional delivery.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, integrations, and data flows.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production support.
  • Experience with delivery management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Smartsheet).
  • Strong governance, documentation, and planning discipline.
  • Ability to drive user adoption and support change management initiatives.
