Crowley's Ridge Development Council (CRDC) is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Part-Time Transit Driver to join our Northeast Arkansas Transit (NEAT) team. This position provides safe and reliable transportation for community members throughout Northeast Arkansas while helping connect individuals to essential services.

This opportunity is ideal for retirees, semi-retired individuals, veterans, or anyone seeking meaningful part-time work with a flexible schedule. No transit experience is required. Training is available for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport passengers throughout the CRDC service area
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service
  • Collect and accurately account for passenger fares
  • Complete required daily and monthly reports
  • Communicate effectively with clients, staff, and the public
  • Follow all transportation safety procedures and company policies
  • Maintain a dependable attendance record and professional appearance

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean driving record
  • Current automobile liability insurance
  • Ability to pass a DOT drug screening
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Ability to obtain a physician's medical clearance statement
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to bend, squat, and assist passengers when necessary
  • Ability to sit and drive for extended periods

Preferred

  • Passenger ("P") endorsement or willingness to obtain one
  • Previous transportation, shuttle, delivery, bus, or passenger transportation experience

Schedule

  • Part-Time
  • Approximately 20–25 hours per week
  • Hours vary based on transportation needs
  • Flexible, as-needed schedule
  • Primarily daytime transportation routes

Additional Information

This position is classified as a DOT Safety-Sensitive Position. All Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol policies and procedures must be followed.
