Mechanical Design Co-op Student (8-months - Fall Term)

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Ensure adherence to ISO 45001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, Johnson Electric's policies, and other industry standards in all activities
  • Work on SolidWorks drawings
  • Collaborate with the Automation design team to produce world-class drawings for assembly lines
  • Interact with production operators, technicians, and other key resources to assist with documentation, standardization, and process improvement
  • Create and update the Preventive Maintenance (PM) system
  • Create and maintain documentation for new and existing assembly lines
  • Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform other related duties as required

About You

The company is looking for:

  • Currently working toward a technical degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Design
  • Experience in a design role or previous co-op considered an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Independent and self-motivated worker
  • Hands-on experience is a plus
  • Committed to meeting deadline requirements
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt priorities based on organizational needs
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Strong AutoCAD or CAD experience (both 3D and 2D)
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication at all organizational levels
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
