Marketing Specialist, Community Engagement, Partnerships & Promotions

Reporting to the Head of Partnership, Sponsorship and Promotion Strategy, the incumbent will be responsible for planning, developing and executing the philanthropy and sustainable development communication plan, as well as ensuring the outreach and activation of the various sponsorships for grocery store banners in Quebec. He will also be responsible for managing and developing contests, promotional campaigns with partners (excluding loyalty) and the realization of special projects. He will be responsible for building a relationship with the national teams on community engagement, sustainability, sponsorships and promotions.

Partnerships - Community Engagement

• Contribute to the development of the annual marketing plan and strategic planning for philanthropy and community engagement for Quebec, particularly for the IGA, Rachelle Béry, Les Marchés Tradition and Marché Bonichoix banners.
• Represent Quebec on the national Community Investment team.
• Cultivate good relationships with partners (NPOs, Food Banks, Foundations) to ensure the sharing of information and alignment between the various philanthropic activities in Quebec.
• Administer donation requests, identify opportunities for Quebec and list donations collected for Quebec partners.

Partnerships – Sustainable Development (SD)

• Develop an annual communication plan and ensure the influence of SD initiatives (sustainable mobility, waste management, food waste reduction, etc.) and the involvement of our dealer network;
• Build the relationship with the Earth Day organization and coordinate with them the initiatives of the EcoIGA Fund;
• Attend meetings of the Sustainable Development Committee, and present the progress and assessment of the various projects/programs;
• Evaluates the impact of initiatives and makes strategic recommendations.

Sponsorships

• Responsible for the relationship with sponsored partners;
• Contribute to the strategic development, optimization and ensure the execution and outreach of
sponsorship plans;
• Be on the lookout for industry innovations and best practices;
• Evaluate, recommend and take charge of and list all sponsorship opportunities and requests;
• Plan post-mortem sponsorship meetings with partners, analyze results, propose
optimizations and write reports;

Promotions

• Participate in the strategic orientations regarding contests and promotional initiatives (excluding loyalty) for all banners;
• Take charge of any one-off request for competitions;
• Collaborate with the Retail Operations function for the execution of in-store contests, and with the Information Technology team for the development and implementation of the technological aspects related to their execution;
• Collaborate with the marketing function and Retail media to maximize the mechanics of contests, marketing promotions (excluding loyalty), and involve our other business partners;

Project Management

• Plan, design, execute and evaluate omnichannel marketing communications campaigns (promotions, contests, sponsorships, fundraising and sustainable development).
• Write briefs and follow up with agencies (creative, media, experiential marketing), partners and suppliers.
• Coordinate the development, production and distribution of advertising messages according to visibility plans.
• Ensure compliance with the branding, graphic standards and guidelines of the various banners.
• Write internal communication tools, presentations, post-mortem, performance analyses and make strategic recommendations for future optimization.
• Ensure compliance with contractual agreements with partners (benefits, visibility).
• Manage budgets, schedules and the quality of deliverables for projects under his/her responsibility.
• Ensure fluid communication and effective information sharing with the internal teams involved (sustainable development, social and content, commercial programs, martech, public relations, marketing, operations, retail media, merchant network, etc.)
• Perform any other related tasks as requested by the immediate supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS

• University degree in marketing, communications or a related discipline;
• At least 5 years of experience in campaign management and fundraising and sponsorship activation (experience in agencies and event organization is an asset);
• Experience in the food/retail sector (an asset);
• Knowledge of Office suite software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
• Knowledge of digital platforms and social media (an asset);
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, in French and English;
• Valid driver's license for occasional travel across Quebec.
