Junior General Accountant

<p><strong>Sailun Tire Americas – Jr. General Accountant</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Position Reporting To</strong> – Manager, General Ledger</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Summary/Objective</strong></p><p>Reporting to the GL Manager, this position supports the GL team assisting with compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data. May include any, or all of, the following: ledgers and preparation of journal entries; fixed asset or inventory accounting; preparation of trial balance or financial statements; cost accounting; bank account reconciliation. Has a good knowledge of the organization's existing systems and the ability to handle most regular issues independently.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Functions </strong></p><p><br></p><p>Performs basic accounting activities with guidance from senior accounting staff.</p><p>• Assists with the classification and recording of financial transactions in accordance with company procedures.</p><p>• Assists in repairing journal entries, reconciles accounts, and reviews supporting documentation for accuracy.</p><p>• Supports month-end and year-end closing activities.</p><p>• Assists in preparing standard financial reports, such as trial balances, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.</p><p>• Maintains accounting records and files in an organized and accurate manner.</p><p>• Helps analyze basic financial data and investigates discrepancies as directed.</p><p>• Ensures work is completed accurately and within established timelines.</p><p>• Communicates with internal departments to gather information and clarify accounting-related items.</p><p>• Provides administrative and accounting support to the finance team as needed.</p><p>• Learns and applies company accounting policies, procedures, and systems.</p><p>• Performs other duties as assigned.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Skills and Qualifications</strong></p><p>Must be able to work effectively in a team-based collaborative environment. Demonstrates ownership of assigned responsibilities with a positive self-starter attitude. Strong communication skills both written and verbal. Able to work independently with minimal direction, but also recognizes when to ask for direction when needed. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Required Education and Experience</strong></p><p>Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance</p><p>CPA/CGA/CA Designation or nearing completion</p><p>2+ years of progressive experience in a similar role (industry or public practice)</p><p>Strong experience in working in a Global multi-entity environment is an asset</p><p>Solid experience with ERP system (PowerBI, SAP and Microsoft Dynamics (Navision) - desirable</p><p>Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Microsoft Navision and SAP (preferred but not required)</p><p>Experience in delivering timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis</p><p>Warehousing and Wholesale expense is an asset.</p><p></p>
