Inside Sales Associate and Shipping/Receiving

Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable, customer-focused, and detail-oriented Inside Sales / Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our team. This position will focus on customer service, sales support, order processing, and shipping and receiving responsibilities.

The ideal candidate is comfortable assisting customers at the sales counter and over the phone, while also supporting warehouse operations such as receiving inventory, pulling orders, organizing stock, and preparing shipments. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers by phone and in person with product questions, pricing, availability, purchases, and rentals
  • Prepare quotes, rental orders, sales orders, customer account information, and invoices accurately
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales and build strong customer relationships
  • Receive incoming shipments and verify products against purchase orders and packing slips
  • Inspect incoming products for damage, shortages, or incorrect items
  • Pull and pack customer orders for delivery or customer pickup
  • Load and unload trucks safely using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment
  • Restock the sales floor as needed
  • Organize back stock and put away newly received inventory
  • Assist with inventory counts and loss prevention
  • Follow company safety procedures and proper material handling practices

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Dependable, organized, punctual, and team-oriented
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Basic computer skills and experience with data entry
  • Ability to read packing slips, purchase orders, product labels, and sales documents
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, and move throughout the workday at sales counter and in warehouse
  • Forklift experience preferred, but not required
  • Bilingual skills are a plus, but not required
  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or construction supply is preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of construction materials, tools, fasteners, safety products, or building supplies is a plus
