Full Time Seasonal Turf Maintenance

We currently have an exciting opportunity for Seasonal Turf Maintenance workers. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the golf course, grounds, greens, and gardens to the highest standards throughout the golf season. You will gain hands-on exposure to many aspects of our operation while helping to exceed the expectations of our membership.

Who we are:

Islington Golf Club is a private club founded in 1923, during the "Golden Age" of golf course construction. In 2019, we were awarded Club of the Year by the Canadian Managers Association of Canada. And in 2023, we celebrated our 100th anniversary!

Seasonal- August to November

Full-time hours

Your skills & qualifications:

· Knowledge of golf etiquette

· Excellent oral and written skills

· Experience in a private club environment- an asset

· Excellent interpersonal communication

· Valid work permit

Your role:

· Ability to operate hand tools such as raking, shoveling, edging

· Ability to operate small gasoline powered tools, such as: line trimming, push mowing, using backpack blowers

· Adheres to mowing practices with regards to greens, tees, aprons, fairways, roughs

· Raking, edging, weeding bunkers, mulch beds and other designated areas

· Operates gasoline utility vehicles for transportation of staff and materials

· Lays sod, seeds, and fills divots

· Performs all cultural practices such as aerating, verticutting, and dethatching

· Hand waters greens, tees, fairways and roughs

· Performs all duties in a safe, efficient and timely manner as directed by the supervisors
