FreeCAD Engineering Question Author
The work
You will create question-and-answer sets from multi-part assemblies in FreeCAD format. Your questions must be objective, precise, and answerable from the design without guessing.
- Study geometry, assembly relationships, engineering function, and other design details.
- Write several technical questions for each assembly, with exact and verifiable answers.
- Create clear, accurate written content for engineering training.
- Communicate in writing and verbally to clarify requirements and review feedback.
- Record useful insights and any ambiguities you find while authoring.
What it pays and takes
This is a part-time contractor role listed at the entry level, but the work requires substantial technical knowledge and careful judgment.
- Pay: $40-$80 per hour, with an $80 hourly rate listed.
- Schedule: 20 or more hours per week.
- Work arrangement: Part-time contract.
- Language: Professional fluency in English.
- Experience: Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or industrial design.
- Required skills: Strong foundational CAD knowledge, experience with multi-part assemblies and engineering drawings, and the ability to explain technical ideas clearly.
- Content skills: Experience authoring detailed technical questions or engineering training material, with close attention to accuracy and detail.
- Helpful experience: Direct FreeCAD experience or experience with a comparable CAD platform.
