In this vital role, you will operate various types of heavy equipment—including reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, and Hi-Lo forklifts—to load, unload, and organize inventory. Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a variety of heavy equipment such as forklifts (including reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo), pallet jacks, and order pickers to load and unload shipments efficiently.
  • Manage inventory by accurately scanning barcodes, updating warehouse management systems (WMS), and conducting regular stock counts.
  • Assist in order picking processes to fulfill customer orders with precision and speed.
  • Maintain strict adherence to OSHA and OSHA-approved forklift safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Support shipping and receiving activities by organizing materials for dispatch or receipt, verifying shipment accuracy, and documenting transactions.
  • Perform routine equipment repairs or report maintenance needs promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Follow warehouse safety standards in production environments while handling materials manually or with material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or clamp trucks.
  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage layouts and improve warehouse distribution workflows.
  • Conduct manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining proper ergonomic practices.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems for inventory control, order processing, and logistics tracking.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating forklift equipment including reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, or similar material handling machinery.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, inventory management, and order picking procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety standards in production environments such as OSHA regulations related to forklift operation and materials handling.
  • Ability to perform manual lifting tasks safely while adhering to proper ergonomic techniques.
  • Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and transaction documentation.
  • Familiarity with barcode scanning technology for logistics purposes.
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced warehouse environment is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team setting.
