Farm Laborer - Greenhouse Operations

About the Role

Our client is seeking energetic and reliable Farm Laborers to support their expanding greenhouse operations in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. This hands-on role is essential for ensuring the healthy growth and successful harvesting of a variety of produce. You will be involved in all aspects of greenhouse cultivation, from planting and tending to harvesting and packaging. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals passionate about agriculture and horticulture to gain valuable experience and contribute to the production of high-quality local food within a dynamic agricultural setting.

Key Responsibilities Perform planting, transplanting, and cultivating of seedlings and mature plants. Water, fertilize, and monitor plants for signs of pests or diseases. Assist with greenhouse environmental controls, such as temperature, humidity, and ventilation. Harvest produce at optimal maturity, ensuring quality and proper handling techniques are used. Clean and prepare harvested produce for packaging and distribution. Assist with packaging and labeling of products. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the greenhouse facilities and surrounding work areas. Operate basic farm machinery and tools as required. Requirements Previous experience in agricultural work, horticulture, or general labor is an asset but not required. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Basic understanding of plant care and greenhouse operations is beneficial. Must be able to work in varying temperature conditions typical of greenhouse environments. Reliable transportation to and from the farm site near Kitchener-Waterloo .
