UT Preparatory Academy (UTPA) is an educational institution that supports students in their academic development and university preparation.

We are currently hiring a Part-Time English Interview Coach to prepare students for university admission interviews at leading universities in Hong Kong.

Position Details

  • Position: English Interview Coach – University Admissions
  • Employment Type: Part-Time
  • Location: Remote
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 PM–9:00 PM ET
  • Session Length: Approximately 1 hour per student
  • Student Load: Approximately 10 students
  • Compensation: CAD $30–$35/hour
  • Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Interview Season: Most university admission interviews take place during January–February
  • Future Opportunity: Potential to transition to a full-time position based on performance and organizational needs

Responsibilities

  • Provide English interview preparation and coaching for students applying to leading universities in Hong Kong.
  • Conduct realistic one-on-one mock interviews and provide personalized, constructive feedback.
  • Prepare students for different interview formats, including individual and group interviews.
  • Simulate university admission interview scenarios and ask relevant follow-up questions.
  • Help students improve their English communication, confidence, critical thinking, and interview skills.
  • Help students develop clear, well-structured, and natural responses to interview questions.
  • Identify areas for improvement and provide practical coaching to help students perform effectively in interviews.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust training according to individual needs.

Qualifications

  • Fluent English speaker with excellent spoken English and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable conducting interviews and providing constructive feedback.
  • Patient, responsible, and comfortable working with students.
  • Previous experience in teaching, tutoring, coaching, interviewing, or mentoring is an asset.
  • Previous experience preparing students for HKU or other leading Hong Kong university admission interviews is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with individual and group interview formats is an asset.
  • New graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Able to commit to the required Monday–Friday evening schedule.
  • Reliable internet connection and a suitable environment for remote work.
