About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Electrical Power Engineer to join their established team in Vaughan . This role is integral to the design, analysis, and implementation of power systems, ensuring reliable and efficient energy distribution for various projects. You will work on a range of tasks from feasibility studies to detailed design and commissioning, collaborating closely with project managers and site engineers. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer passionate about power systems to contribute to significant infrastructure developments.

Key Responsibilities Design electrical power distribution systems, including substations, switchgear, and cabling for industrial and commercial applications. Perform power system studies such as load flow, short circuit, and arc flash analysis using specialized software. Develop single-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, and equipment specifications. Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of power systems and equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to power system operation and reliability. Ensure designs comply with all relevant electrical codes, standards (e.g., IEEE, CSA), and safety regulations. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in Power Systems. Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in electrical power engineering. Proficiency in power system analysis software such as ETAP, PSS/E, or SKM. Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards, particularly related to power distribution and protection.
