Why This Role Matters The Customer Sales Executive (CSE) is the linchpin between careerpulse and one of the world’s most influential retail partners Costco. In this role, you will be the strategic advisor, data analyst, and growth catalyst for careerpulse’s presence in Costco’s West Coast territories. Your insights and actions will directly influence sales performance, market share, and profitability for both careerpulse and Costco. Key Responsibilities Strategic Growth Planning Develop and execute a 1‑to‑3 year business plan that aligns with careerpulse’s financial objectives and Costco’s retail strategy. Use advanced analytics to simulate incremental volume, forecast sales, and identify high‑impact opportunities. Trade Spend Management Allocate and monitor trade funds within the approved budget, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley policies and maximizing return on investment. Manage trade fund budgets, clear deductions, and track performance against targets. Data‑Driven Decision Making Leverage careerpulse’s suite of analytical tools—including Trade Winds, IRI, Ahold TradePoint, EYC Loyalty data, and RSI—to generate actionable insights. Build and maintain sales plans in Trade Winds, and conduct pre‑ and post‑campaign analysis. Customer Relationship Management Serve as the primary point of contact for Costco’s West Coast region, building trusted advisory relationships. Understand Costco’s business objectives, challenges, and opportunities, and translate them into mutually beneficial agreements. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Partner with careerpulse Seasonal CSEs, Shopper Engagement teams, and supply chain specialists to align initiatives, share resources, and ensure seamless execution of promotional activities. Account Penetration & Expansion Identify and pursue opportunities to deepen careerpulse’s footprint within Costco stores—whether through new product placements, shelf space optimization, or joint marketing campaigns. Travel & On‑Site Presence Conduct regular visits to Costco regions across the West Coast and to careerpulse headquarters in Pennsylvania to maintain strong relationships, gather on‑ground insights, and support in‑store initiatives. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure all sales activities adhere to corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards. Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for audit purposes. Essential Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree Required in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field. Sales Experience Minimum of 8 years in a customer‑facing sales role, preferably within the consumer packaged goods (CPG) sector. Retail Partner Expertise Proven track record of managing large retail accounts, with experience calling on Costco highly desirable. Analytical Proficiency Strong ability to interpret sales data, build forecasting models, and translate insights into actionable strategies. Negotiation & Influence Demonstrated success in negotiating trade spend, shelf space, and promotional agreements that drive profitability.
