Document Control Clerk
About the position
The Document Control Clerk will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and distributing project documentation for a large-scale natural gas pipeline construction project. This role ensures that all technical, quality, and project-related documents are accurately controlled, traceable, and compliant with project and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Set up, maintain, and manage document control processes in accordance with project standards
- Upload, track, distribute, and archive documents using EDMS systems, primarily Procore
- Ensure all drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and correspondence are current and properly version-controlled
- Coordinate document workflows between engineering, construction, quality, safety, and project management teams
- Monitor document status, revisions, approvals, and transmittals
- Generate document control logs, reports, and trackers as required
- Perform quality checks to ensure document accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of project documentation
- Support audits and regulatory reviews by ensuring proper document traceability
- Assist project teams with EDMS usage and document retrieval when needed
Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience in a document control role, preferably within pipeline, construction, or industrial projects
- Intermediate hands-on experience with Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS)
- Procore experience is preferred (intermediate level or higher)
- Strong understanding of document numbering, revision control, and approval workflows
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage high document volumes in a fast-paced project environment
Nice-to-haves
- Experience on natural gas, oil & gas, or pipeline projects
- Familiarity with Alberta-based construction or regulatory documentation standards
- Exposure to engineering and construction drawings (IFC, shop drawings, as-builts)
- Procore, SharePoint, or other EDMS experience is an asset
