Auto req I 2135BR Department Singapore Corporate Banking Department Section Global Subsidiaries Regional Coverage Location Singapore Job Responsibilities Principal Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Deliverables of Role: Originate & execute industry leading, best-in-class wholesale banking products and solutions and drive sustainable growth (income, balance sheet and profitability), aligned to the objectives to broaden and deepen the share of wallet in the Group Coverage Client base. To work collaboratively across all Group geographies, delivering “One-Mizuho” in product solutions and service delivery, and operating on a booking agnostic basis to the extent practicable. Drive growth through existing client relationships and new client acquisitions, inbound referrals in Singapore and Asia / Develop new-to-bank business relationships. Actively lead Singapore and Asia efforts to build and develop Western MNC business with key focus in penetrating and serving Western parented clients/ relationships. Engaging with internal APAC colleagues in Singapore (i.e. product and risk partners etc), with Western GRM network, as well as APAC region branch RMs and product partners through good understanding of the drivers of the Singapore & Asian corridors. Help formulate value propositions and strategies in collaboration between regional branch RM teams in Asia. Frequent calls on clients to deepen relationships and proactively owns, responds to, uncovers and anticipates future needs, roadblocks or risks and expectations. Introduces solutions to clients in building and strengthening an effective portfolio. Drive a high-performance, Client-centric business culture focused on maximizing cross-border and cross-product opportunities for the Group. Work with product specialists and subject matter experts to structure innovative and customized solutions that meet clients' individual needs. Works closely with internal stakeholders and compliance on the on-boarding and retention of clients, ensuring the appropriate "Know Your Client" (KYC) and other compliance deliverables are met. Maximizes client experience by proactive sharing markets updates, trend and intelligence. Drives innovation in the solutions we provide clients and further developing our business where necessary and appropriate. Execution of strategic initiatives launched centrally at all levels (Group, Bank, market and APCB). Networks with clients to identify avenues for new business opportunities. Identifies cross-sell opportunities to deepen and increase share of wallet. Administrate the credit relationship of the client, coordinating and supervising the entire process, ensuring the proper application of policies and institutional processes. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and Mizuho’s policies / guidelines at all time. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency. Proactively drive product execution and team performance across Group geographies, through regular pipeline reviews and year-end performance reviews. Drive a collaborative culture of process improvement and efficiency across the Group, to encourage improvements in key stakeholder functions such as Operations, Compliance, Finance, Risk, and Middle Office. Proactively manage the corporate portfolio to ensure alignment with the Bank’s Risk Appetite Statement, credit risk policies, Compliance policies, and strategic KPI parameters agreed with the Head of Asia/MD Singapore. Support Group Coverage in the development of comprehensive Client plans, by providing input/analysis on targeted Wholesale Banking opportunities across the Client base and participate in regular Client plan reviews to ensure a culture of discipline and accountability of delivery against plans. Qualifications Job Requirements At least a Bachelor's/University degree: BA / BS in business administration, accountancy, finance, economics or equivalent; additional tertiary qualifications (Master’s degree preferred) would be considered as a plus. 12-15 years of experience in international banking environment. Successfully worked and developed his/her career in major Financial Institutions in Asia geographies with experience in corporate client management covering MNCs in Asia. Proven track record of origination/execution/distribution of successful transactions in a banking organization and ideally in a matrix structure. Display a good understanding of Asia markets, culture and business practices. Demonstrate good track record of excellent customer relationship management across corporate, multinational organizations. Showcase good knowledge in banking product landscape, including Transaction Banking, Corporate Lending, Financial & Capital Markets, Project Finance, Islamic Finance, etc.. Present good understand Industry trends, with sensitivity as to how it applies to Global subsidiary clients. Project ability to work as a team across multiple functions and geographies, especially with Global Account Managers to provide seamless solutions to the Client in line with their global strategy & policy. Proactively identify opportunities to structure innovative solutions and cross-sell the full range of products tailored to customer needs and requirements, increasing share of wallet. Ensure assigned portfolio complies with all bank credit and KYC requirements as appropriate. Show sound knowledge of banking and investment products and process as well as a track record of providing sound banking and financial advice and solutions to clients. Demonstrate sound credit skills by being able to structure more complex deals, which can include capital market transactions. Demonstrate advanced level of Early Warning Detection skills, advanced credit skills; able to structure all type of credit deals. Work effectively in team setting; coordinate multi-functional teams to provide an exceptional client experience, involving excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills (e.g. negotiation, consultative skills, leadership) Ability to work under pressure while making sound decisions, highly focused, able to rapidly identify key priorities, clearly communicate the priorities. A proactive approach in looking for ways in strengthening business relationship with clients, delivers a simple, secure and seamless client experience. Passion for creating new business opportunities with existing clients and able to demonstrate innovative approaches to meeting clients' needs. Ability to embrace new technology and understand the role digital plays in the experience we deliver for our clients. Able to quickly adapt priorities based on the latest data insights. In collaboration with the MD and Singapore Head, to ensure the development, and execution, of a clear Asia strategy that is aligned to the strategy of global Wholesale Banking, and specifically to the Asia geography and Group Coverage Team strategies around the targeted Client base. Regularly assess the Group competitive position in core markets, feedback and work towards enhancements to the Group Wholesale Banking business by adopting best market practices wherever possible. Contribute actively to the development and implementation of a best-in-class solution of Corporate Lending, Transaction Banking, Specialized Finance and Financial Markets, to support a broadening and deepening of Group Coverage Client base. Drive Business-Support initiatives with regular reviews of performance/efficiencies and solutions/dependencies respectively. To assist the relevant senior members of the management team to effectively manage the overall regulatory position of Wholesale Banking business within satisfactory parameters.
