Consulting Registered Nurse (RN) — Remote, Contract
At Ember Care, a Registered Nurse reviews every care plan before a caregiver ever walks into a home. We're looking for one experienced RN in Ontario to be that nurse — remotely, on your own schedule.
Ember Care is a home care agency serving Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and nearby communities: companionship, personal care from certified PSWs, dementia and overnight support. One thing most agencies our size don't do — every client's care plan is reviewed by a nurse before care begins. This is the role behind that promise, and it's an unusual one.
What it looks like:
- Fully remote, from anywhere in Ontario. You review each client's profile and draft care plan on your own time.
- You advise the agency, not its clients. You confirm the scope is something Ember Care can safely deliver, flag anything that belongs with a clinician, and set the escalation thresholds. You never contact, attend, or assess clients — when a case needs a closer look, you join our Care Coordinator by video while they're in the home. Nurse-reviewed, not nurse-led.
- Low, predictable volume, paid per review as an independent contractor. It fits alongside a fuller life.
- Genuinely meaningful — your judgment shapes how safely and kindly people are cared for at home.
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario, your own professional liability protection, and clear, plain-language clinical judgment.
- Community, home care, or geriatric experience is a real asset.
