Cloud Accounting Manager

<p>BrightenCPA is a growing, cloud-based CPA firm providing bookkeeping, payroll, financial reporting and accounting support to businesses and nonprofit organizations across Canada.</p><p><br></p><p>We’re looking for an experienced Cloud Accounting Manager to join our team.</p><p><br></p><p>This is a hands-on role for someone with strong accounting fundamentals who enjoys working with clients, reviewing the work of others, and taking ownership of client files from monthly bookkeeping through financial reporting.</p><p><br></p><p>WHAT YOU’LL DO</p><p>• Manage a portfolio of bookkeeping and cloud accounting clients</p><p>• Review monthly bookkeeping and ensure client files are accurate and complete</p><p>• Review bank and credit card reconciliations, balance sheet accounts and supporting schedules</p><p>• Review monthly and quarterly financial statements and investigate unusual balances or transactions</p><p>• Prepare and review adjusting journal entries</p><p>• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes</p><p>• Review GST/HST and other indirect tax filings</p><p>• Review payroll reports, payroll reconciliations and payroll-related general ledger accounts</p><p>• Ensure wages, source deductions, benefits, vacation and employer payroll costs are properly recorded and reconciled</p><p>• Work with the payroll team to identify and resolve discrepancies</p><p>• Review the work of bookkeepers and provide clear feedback and guidance</p><p>• Communicate directly with clients to resolve accounting questions and obtain missing information</p><p>• Prepare year-end working papers and support external accountants and auditors</p><p>• Manage client deadlines and ensure work is completed accurately and on time</p><p>• Help strengthen our internal accounting processes, templates and quality-control procedures</p><p><br></p><p>WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR</p><p>• 5+ years of hands-on full-cycle accounting, bookkeeping or client accounting experience</p><p>• Strong understanding of accrual accounting, month-end close and financial reporting</p><p>• Strong QuickBooks Online experience</p><p>• Experience reviewing the work of bookkeepers or accountants</p><p>• Good understanding of payroll accounting and payroll reconciliations</p><p>• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills</p><p>• Comfortable managing multiple client files and deadlines</p><p>• Clear and professional written and verbal communication</p><p>• Able to work independently and take ownership of issues through completion</p><p>Experience working in a CPA firm or bookkeeping firm is strongly preferred.</p><p>Experience with Dext, Plooto, Payworks or similar cloud accounting and payroll systems is an asset.</p><p>A CPA designation is an asset, but not required.
