CLK ST 09R - Panel Secretary

The Team WCAT is an independent, quasi-judicial tribunal that workers or employers can go to if they want to appeal a decision from WorkSafeBC. WCAT is the final level of appeal in the B.C. workers' compensation system

It has authority to decide appeals about specific types of work-related matters outlined in section 288 and 289 of the Workers Compensation Act. To learn more about WCAT, please visit The Role WCAT is seeking a panel secretary to provide a full range of secretarial and administrative services to vice chairs who adjudicate appeals and applications and render decisions

This position performs in a highly confidential capacity, under legislated timelines. Qualifications: Education and Experience Requirements Secondary school graduation or equivalent. Minimum one (1) year secretarial, clerical, or administrative support experience, education and/or training.

Minimum six (6) months customer service experience providing client service in an adversarial environment. Experience/training in keyboarding, word processing and standard computer applications (i.e., MS Office - Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, and databases). Preference may be given to applicants with medical or legal secretarial training and/or previous working experience in either of these environments

About this Position: Flexible work options are available; upon successful training, this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
