Cleaner - Part Time

West Island Student Cleaning is currently seeking 3 dedicated and detail-oriented student cleaners or young professionals to join our growing team.
We’re looking for individuals who are extroverted, friendly, reliable, detail-oriented, and take pride in their work. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, professional, and meticulous person who genuinely enjoys cleaning and working independently while also creating a positive experience for clients.

Requirements:

  • Recently or currently enrolled in an undergraduate or master’s program
  • Based in the West Island of Montreal
  • Owns or has access to a vehicle
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Friendly, personable, and professional demeanor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed cleaning of all assigned areas, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting, with a strong focus on consistency and quality
  • Clean and sanitize kitchens, bathrooms, and living spaces to maintain a hygienic and welcoming environment
  • Disinfect high-touch surfaces (e.g., handles, switches, countertops) to uphold health and safety standards
  • Follow the company’s structured cleaning checklist to ensure no task is overlooked and all standards are met

Client Care & Professionalism:

  • Maintain a friendly, respectful, and professional demeanor in all client interactions
  • Respect client homes, belongings, and privacy at all times
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with management regarding any concerns, delays, or special client requests

Responsibility & Accountability:

  • Monitor cleaning supply levels and report low inventory in advance
  • Follow all safety procedures and use cleaning products responsibly
  • Identify and report any damages, maintenance issues, or irregularities observed during cleanings
  • Arrive on time, work efficiently, and manage time effectively to complete all assigned tasks

Standards & Expectations:

  • Adhere to West Island Student Cleaning’s standards of excellence and attention to detail
  • Work independently while maintaining high performance and reliability
  • Take pride in delivering consistent, high-quality results for every client

Skills

  • Prior custodial or cleaning experience preferred, especially in commercial settings
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on thoroughness and hygiene standards
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, or carpet cleaners (nice-to-have)
  • Good physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
  • Excellent time management skills to complete assigned tasks efficiently within scheduled shifts
  • Reliable work ethic with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Benefits:

  • Starting pay is $23.50 per hour (+ tip) and will be reviewed after six months, or sooner, based on exceptional performance and recognition from clients and supervisors
