Claims Business Product Owner

Job Description:

  • Serve as the strategic lead for intake management within the business domain
  • Partner with Client Management, Claims Operations, Product & Planning, Configuration, and Technology teams
  • Partner with Product and Planning on Claims backlog prioritization
  • Support intake governance and escalation protocols
  • Refine business requirements, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and success measures
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Claims Operations, Product & Planning, Configuration, and Technology teams
  • Partner with the Technical Product Owner as the voice of the customer and business throughout discovery, development, testing, and implementation
  • Facilitate stakeholder alignment, prioritization discussions, and decision-making
  • Ensure backlog items meet Definition of Ready standards
  • Analyze operational data, business metrics, and customer feedback to identify improvement opportunities and measure outcomes
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and process improvement opportunities
  • Participate in Agile planning events, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and other team ceremonies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
  • CSPO, SAFe POPM, or equivalent Product Owner certification
  • Experience in healthcare claims operations, claims systems, or related payer business functions
  • Experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Product Manager, or similar role supporting technology-enabled business solutions
  • Strong knowledge of Agile and Kan Ban methodologies and backlog management practices
  • Ability to gather requirements, define business value, and translate complex business needs into actionable solutions
  • Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, or similar Agile and Kan Ban planning and collaboration tools
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Experience with claims adjudication, benefit configuration, provider reimbursement, or healthcare technology platforms
  • Experience supporting large-scale operational, system, or transformation initiatives
  • For work at home, cable broadband or fiber optic internet service with at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload
