Category Manager-II

As a Category Manager-II at Best Buy, you’ll shape the future of our marketplace by growing categories, partnering with sellers, and turning insights into results that move the business forward.

The successful candidate is needed to be located within the Lower Mainland, BC, where we practice a remote first working model, leveraging in person interactions for strategic, collaborative, and social purposes.

What you’ll do:

  • Own and manage our home theatre marketplace category, with end-to-end responsibility for performance.
  • Drive P&L results through pricing, margin management, and commercial trade-offs to support sustainable category growth.
  • Set and execute category strategy, including assortment, planograms, and ongoing optimization based on performance data.
  • Manage and grow marketplace partner relationships, applying strong account management skills alongside category ownership.
  • Analyze market and industry trends (e.g., market share, competitive landscape, category performance) to inform data-driven decisions.
  • Partner cross-functionally and use data to win, optimizing assortment, pricing, and promotions.
What we’re looking for:
  • 5+ years of category management experience in retail, e-commerce, or marketplace environments, with end-to-end ownership of a product category.
  • Strong commercial and P&L ownership, including experience with pricing, margin management, GMV, and profitability metrics; consumer electronics experience is a plus.
  • Ability to manage both category strategy and vendor/accounts, balancing category growth with relationship management.
  • Analytical and market-driven mindset, using industry trends and performance data to guide decisions.
  • Strong relationship-builder and communicator, with solid negotiation skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Annualized Compensation Range

$80,000.00 - $85,000.00

This job is eligible for a company performance bonus in addition to the compensation range above.

Starting pay offered will consider skills and experience. Your pay can grow as you build your career with us.
