Job Summary

Full-Time | In-Person | Rosemont & Plateau, Montréal

Ralia is opening a new café concept on June 1, and we're looking for an experienced café operator and barista to help us bring it to life; from the espresso machine we choose, to the beans we pour, to the rhythm of our mornings.

This is a hands-on role for someone who has run a café before and is ready to shape one from the ground up, with the full support of a women-led team that values your ideas, your craft, and your wellbeing.

What you'll do

● Help us set up the café from scratch, sourcing equipment, selecting our espresso machine, choosing beans, and designing the cafe layout

● Build relationships with local roasters, farms, and suppliers that align with our values

● Develop our coffee and food menu with attention to seasonality, nutrition, and waste

● Open, run, and close the café day-to-day with care and consistency

● Train and support café staff as the team grows

● Manage inventory, ordering, and cost tracking

● Create and maintain opening/closing protocols, POS flow, and quality standards

● Contribute café content and moments to our social media (Instagram, LinkedIn)

● Be a warm, recognizable face for regulars and the community we're building

Who you are

● 2+ years of café experience, with hands-on barista skills and a real love for the craft

● You've helped open or significantly shape a café before, or you're ready to

● Passionate about nutrition, sustainability, and where ingredients come from

● Excited by the creative side: menu development, sourcing, café aesthetics, the small details that make a place feel like somewhere

● Organized, reliable, and steady in a fast-paced morning rush

● Warm with customers, generous with your team, and grounded in your values

● Comfortable in a women-led environment and open to a more feminine, relational approach to business

● Tech-savvy : comfortable with Cluster, ClickUp, Instagram, Claude and learning new tools

● Bilingual: fluent in spoken and written English and French

● MAPAQ certification (or willing to obtain it)

Availability

● Early mornings, weekdays, and some weekends ; this is a café, after all

● Flexible and present, especially in the opening months as we find our rhythm

Position Details

● Full-time, in-person on location in Rosemont and the Plateau

● Competitive salary based on experience

● Income growth opportunities as the café expands

Perks & Benefits (after 3 months)

● Monthly wellness budget for your mental and physical health

● Flexible schedule

● Overnight perks at one of our properties in Quebec or Costa Rica

● An inclusive, supportive environment that values rest, communication, and balance

● The chance to grow with a regenerative, women-led hospitality brand

● Work in a space built around community, sustainability, and meaningful experiences
