As we continue to expand, we are looking for a Hybrid Business Analyst & QA / UAT Specialist to support business growth as we continue to build strong client partnerships across North America.


Location: Hybrid / Remote Type: Full-time; New Role


Overview


We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and proactive Business Analyst & QA / UAT Specialist with Life Insurance experience and knowledge to bridge the gap between business needs and technology execution. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across the full delivery lifecycle—from gathering and documenting business requirements to planning, executing, and validating User Acceptance Testing (UAT).


This role requires hands-on experience in the insure-tech industry and the ability to work closely with business stakeholders, product managers, developers, and clients to ensure high-quality, compliant, and business-ready solutions.


Key Responsibilities


Business Analysis

  1. Work directly with internal stakeholders and clients to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements
  2. Translate business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements
  3. Develop and maintain:
  4. Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
  5. Functional Specifications
  6. User Stories and Acceptance Criteria
  7. Act as the liaison between business users and technical teams
  8. Support solution design and ensure regulatory and compliance alignment


Quality Assurance & UAT

  1. Develop test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on business and functional requirements
  2. Execute:
  3. System Testing
  4. Integration Testing
  5. User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  6. Coordinate UAT with business users and clients, including:
  7. Test execution support
  8. Defect tracking and validation
  9. Sign-off management
  10. Log, track, and manage defects through resolution
  11. Validate fixes and ensure release readiness


Delivery & Collaboration:

  1. Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and project status meetings
  2. Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and delivered functionality
  3. Support production releases and post-deployment validation


Required Qualifications:

  1. 2-4 years of hands-on experience in the Life Insurance industry
  2. 2-4 years in Business Analysis, QA, or Business Analyst/Quality Assurance roles
  3. Understanding of life insurance products, Illustrations, eApp, and application processes


Strong experience in:

  1. Writing BRDs, functional specs, and acceptance criteria
  2. Writing and executing UAT test plans and test cases
  3. Defect tracking and test management
  4. Solid knowledge of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies
  5. Excellent communication and documentation skills


Nice to Have

  1. Experience with carrier admin systems
  2. API and integration testing experience
  3. Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar tools
  4. Experience working with offshore development teams
  5. Exposure to regulatory and compliance requirements across North America
