Bookkeeper - Part Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day bookkeeping and financial records for multiple companies. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple entities simultaneously. Experience in property management or tenant-related accounting is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage bookkeeping functions for multiple companies/entities.
  • Record and maintain accurate financial transactions.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and loan accounts.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Prepare and issue invoices and follow up on collections.
  • Maintain general ledger and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Prepare financial reports, including profit & loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Track and manage intercompany transactions.
  • Process payroll and related remittances (if required).
  • Maintain organized digital and physical financial records.
  • Support accountants with tax preparation and audits.
  • Monitor cash flow and provide regular reporting to management.
  • Handle bookkeeping related to rental properties, tenant payments, security deposits, and property expenses (preferred).

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3–5+ years of bookkeeping experience.
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and accounting practices.
  • Experience managing books for multiple companies simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with payroll processing is an asset.
  • Property management or tenant accounting experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Experience:

  • Property management accounting.
  • Tenant rent collection and reconciliations.
  • Trust accounts and security deposit tracking.
  • Multi-entity bookkeeping and intercompany accounting.
  • Working with real estate investment or property management companies.
