Bookkeeper and Accounting Assistant (Remote)

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper and Accounting Assistant to join our team remotely. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in accounting and bookkeeping who are proficient with various accounting software. The successful candidate will support financial operations, maintain accurate records, and assist with various accounting tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of our financial processes.

This position offers flexibility to work from home while contributing to a dynamic organization committed to accuracy and efficiency.

Duties

  • Manage and maintain accurate financial records using the accounting software QuickBooks and the payroll software Payworks
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately
  • Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to ensure data integrity
  • Assist with account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities
  • Support payroll processing and related reporting tasks
  • Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies
  • Maintain organized documentation of all financial transactions for audit readiness
  • Collaborate with team members to improve accounting procedures and workflows
Skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software QuickBooks is essential
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles, including accounts payable/receivable, account reconciliation, and bank reconciliation
  • Experience with payroll processing and related reporting is preferred
  • Ability to perform detailed account analysis and budgeting tasks accurately
  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
