Associate, Pharmaceutical Technology

Job Type: 3 Months Contract, Full-Time

Pay Range: $30-$35/hr.

We are currently seeking an Associate, Pharmaceutical Technology to join a Pharmaceutical Development / Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T) team on a 3-month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmaceutical professional with experience in process development, technology transfer, scale-up, validation, or manufacturing support to contribute to the lifecycle management and continuous improvement of commercial pharmaceutical products.

You’ll work closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, and Supply Chain to support robust, compliant, and efficient manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Support technology transfer activities for new products, line extensions, and externally sourced products through commercialization.
  • Develop, optimize, and transfer manufacturing processes and compounding master formulas for commercial production.
  • Provide technical support for process development, scale-up, validation, and manufacturing activities involving topical, liquid, semi-solid, and other pharmaceutical dosage forms.
  • Support scale-up activities from development and pilot batches through commercial manufacturing and process validation.
  • Review MES MBRs and PMBARs to support accurate and compliant manufacturing documentation.
  • Assist with process development, engineering, validation, and technology transfer studies, including data analysis and interpretation.
  • Partner with Production, QA, QC, Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, and R&D teams to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement technical solutions.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, validation documents, risk assessments, technical justifications, and other GMP documentation.
  • Assess proposed changes to manufacturing processes, equipment, raw materials, and formulations for their impact on product quality, validation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Initiate, manage, and close Change Controls related to process improvements, formula revisions, equipment modifications, technology transfers, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with analytical and quality laboratories to review data, investigate trends, and strengthen process and product understanding.
  • Prepare sensitivity lab batches as required.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with cGMP, Data Integrity requirements, internal procedures, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate GMP documentation and complete all required training and quality-system activities.
  • Support shift or off-hours work when required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical process development, formulation, manufacturing, QC, QA, or a related technical environment.
  • Previous experience within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cGMP requirements and pharmaceutical manufacturing practices.
  • Good knowledge of chemistry, pharmaceutical formulations, compounding processes, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to interpret technical data, test methods, and study results.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills, including experience preparing SOPs and technical reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Working Environment:

  • Work will involve a combination of office and plant/manufacturing environments.
  • Regular standing, walking, and sitting throughout the workday.
  • Some lifting may be required.
  • Occasional exposure to chemicals and varying temperatures.
  • Flexibility to work off-hours or shift schedules when required.
