About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and certified Air Traffic Controller to manage air traffic in the busy airspace around Burnaby . In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of air traffic, coordinating with pilots and other controllers to prevent collisions and maintain efficient operations. This position demands exceptional concentration, decision-making abilities, and a deep understanding of aviation safety protocols. You will be at the forefront of ensuring the safety of countless passengers and crew, working within a state-of-the-art control center.
Key Responsibilities Direct and guide aircraft movements on the ground and in the air using radar, non-radar, and visual systems. Maintain safe separation between aircraft in assigned airspace, adhering to strict procedural standards. Coordinate with adjacent control sectors and units to ensure seamless traffic flow. Monitor weather conditions and provide essential information to pilots. Respond effectively to emergencies and unusual situations, implementing appropriate procedures. Continuously update knowledge of air traffic control procedures, regulations, and technologies. Requirements Valid Air Traffic Controller license issued by Transport Canada. Extensive experience in controlling different types of airspace and traffic scenarios. Demonstrated ability to remain calm and make critical decisions under high-pressure conditions. Excellent situational awareness, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to pass rigorous medical and psychological assessments.
